SCYP Updates

  • This academic year, SCYP students are working with Oregon cities to help them understand how emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles and new micro-mobility modes may impact Oregon’s urban spaces. These concepts are new and many cities are anxious about their implications. To that end, SCYP students are working with Gresham and Eugene to find proactive solutions.

  • Journalism, planning, and interior architecture students are working with past SCYP partner, Springfield, on a variety of projects.

  • The SCYP partnership with TriMet, the regional transit agency in the Portland metropolitan area, successfully wrapped up this summer. In addition to the 15+ final reports that are now available on our website, we are also excited to share the results at the January 2019 Transportation Research Board (TRB) meeting in Washington, D.C. TRB attracts over 10,000 transportation professionals from across the globe. We look forward to discussing SCYP’s innovative model and how it helps cities boldly put knowledge into practice while helping our workforce’s next generation.

  • Apply Now to Partner with SCYP in 2019-2020: SCYP is accepting proposals from Oregon communities interested in partnering during the 2019-2020 academic year. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Program Manager Megan Banks. She can work with you as you think through a partnership or prepare an application. Working together is the best way to ensure a good match, the right scoping, the range of projects we can work on together, and more.
