Silverton Becomes SCYP's Second-Ever Small City Partner

SCYP is excited to work with the City of Silverton on a variety of priority projects, which include designs for the 80-acre Pettit Property, low impact stormwater facilities, and the City’s gateway areas. SCYP will also support strategies to expand community engagement and to build upon and implement the Silverton Energy Plan as a climate action plan.

Participating academic disciplines include landscape architecture, planning, public administration, journalism, Portland State Engineering, and others. Classroom work, site visits, applied learning assignments, and collaboration with Silverton will culminate with SCYP students presenting their recommendations to Silverton staff and community members for their consideration.

The partnership will officially kick off on January 16, 2020 with a celebration in Silverton attended by City leaders, UO faculty and students, SCYP staff, and community members.
