The Sustainable City Year Program is engaging with the city of Corvallis this fall on a special project focused on a portion of the 9th Street corridor in north central Corvallis. Graduate community and regional planning students will consider how properties within a 14-acre area might redevelop and/or intensify under the city’s new Commercial Mixed Use zoning standards. Individual student groups will frame site proposals within three potential themes: 1) Equitable Community; 2) Walkable Neighborhoods; and 3) Climate Resilience.

The culminating final student product will summarize an urban design proposal and vision for the area. Beyond spatial considerations, planning policy recommendations to support the students' site-based recommendations will be included.
