SCYP Small City Pilot: La Pine

Over the past seven years, more than 2,000 students have worked to help Oregon transition to a more sustainable and livable future through the Sustainable City Year Program. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the Sustainable City Year Program (SCYP) is launching its first ever partnership with a small city to pilot a new sustainable small city year program. The City of La Pine, located in beautiful Central Oregon, is Oregon's newest city with approximately 1,800 people in town and 17,000 in the greater La Pine area. University of Oregon students will be working with our partner on economic development, designing community spaces, improving bike and walkability, nonprofit collaboration, and more - all scaled to the size of La Pine.

The La Pine sustainable small city year pilot launched in January 2018.

The SCYP Small Cities Pilot is made possible in part by a grant from The Ford Family Foundation.
