Sustainable City Year Program: TriMet

The University of Oregon Sustainable City Year Program is partnering with TriMet, the tri-county transit agency in Portland, Oregon. TriMet builds, operates, and maintains the regional transit network, connecting people with their community while easing traffic congestion and reducing air pollution—improving quality of life and making the region a better place to live. The SCYP partnership will focus on the Southwest Corridor (SWC) project, a plan for a new 12-mile light rail line in southwest Portland and southeast Washington County. The SWC project includes a variety of stakeholders such as Metro (the regional government), Washington County, Oregon Department of Transportation, and the Cities of Portland, Tigard, and Tualatin.
